When to visit?

You can visit the Cape Verde Islands all year round. The wind is always pleasantly warm.

The best period is late September to June. During the summer period (June to September) some rain days can be expected.

For most visitors without specific demands Boa Vista is the place to go all year around.

Kitesurfers and windsurfers find the best conditions from December to April are. Divers have the most visibility in the underwater world from June to December.

The nesting turtles are from June to October. The turtles are born mid-August to November and then leave towards the sea. And the best chance of spotting whales in March and April.

Money, language, Visa

Throughout Cape Verde can be paid in Euros or Cape Verdean escudos. The exchange rate is 1 Euro is 110 escudos, but often the price 1 100 is used if you pay in Euros.

In Cape Verde we speak Portuguese, but English, French or Spanish they can handle.

The original language is Kreol and each village has its own dialect. The Cape Verdeans therefore do their very best therefore to understand each other and they do also like to visiting guests.

Cape Verde requires a visa for many nationalities and this is a fee (25-35 Euros) for sale directly at the airport.

Transportation

The international airport Boa Vista (Rabil) daily receives several flights from Europe. Sal Rei, local cab 4x4 pickups widely available and inexpensive. An island tour booking agencies in the activities.

Safety

Boa Vista has no dangerous animals or insects. Boa Vista is a safe island and a friendly population.
